Art is everywhere in St. Petersburg. Award-winning galleries, museums, artist studios, murals, and public art, are scattered throughout the city. St. Pete was named, "The #1 Arts Destination in the U.S." (mid-sized cities) three years in a row, and a "Top Craft Lovers Town in the US." The vibrant arts scene has been the catalyst for the city's recent transformation from a sleepy retirement center, to a hip, energetic city full of visual art, performance art, live music, craft beer, and culinary delights. St. Petersburg is now regarded as one of America's most livable cities.
Art events include St. Petersburg's monthly ArtWalk, held on the second Saturday of each month from 5pm to 9pm. You can board the free ArtWalk trolley every 30 minutes at the iconic Craftsman House Gallery (Central Ave & 30th Street).
Preserve The ’Burg's free Music & Movies in the Park event takes place on the downtown waterfront each Thursday evening in May and October. The events culminate at First Night St. Petersburg - the city's New Year's Eve celebration of the arts.
